CBT Essex & CBT in Essex

The CBT is essential training if you want to ride a bike. It's like the alphabet for reading and writing: completely necessary. First, you learn about the theory of being on the road with two wheels... things like road positioning, the safety position and how to put your bike on a stand. Then, at our practical grounds you learn the basics of controlling a ridiculously fun* 50/125cc bike/scooter (delete as necessary). Once you've got good control of your bike we'll take you on the road for two hours and give you a certificate for the road, where you're free to roam wherever you like (except for the motorways – you need a full licence for that).

*We're under the impression that small bikes are amazingly fun.

About the CBT Course in Essex

The CBT, or compulsory basic training, is necessary for anyone wanting to ride on two wheels. It's a basic introduction to the road on a motorbike or scooter which teaches safety, best riding practices and how to handle your vehicle on and off the road. Plus, all you need is a provisional licence.

You can take a CBT course from 16, though 16 year olds are limited to 50cc. People age 17 or over can do the course on a 125cc vehicle, which is necessary if you want to take the module tests or your DAS test.
